I’ll roll with whatever
Muchos apologies for no recent posts, I just haven’t felt much up to writing over the past week or so while tending to other things…
I’m still without a job and have no immediate prospects; I would much prefer that places turning me down do so in a personalized manner (either a brief email, even one just saying “NO”, or a phone call), but such niceties do not appear to enter into professional behaviour in these days of employment driven strictly by those who hire.
I did get an interesting email inquiry today from a European recruiter: he was curious as to whether I’d consider a position with a well-funded company in France, and I said yes. Who knows what may or may not come of it, but I’m ready for just about anything at this point.

Hey Kiley did you get the path blogging job link I sent. I love the idea of France! I hope it works out. You are very talented. How is the family? I know this month has been a drag. The world seems very strange these days.
Howdy Diva! No I didn’t get an email with such a link, could you please re-send?
The family is doing well right now…Sweetie as well as the babies are behaving themselves (hehe!). We keep plodding along.
When I was applying to places in the summer of ’08 no one was getting back to me either, I even called one place asking them about the job and told them I had turned in an application and resume and they asked that I turn in another one…WTF?
Then I had the first legitimate interview and heard nothing back for two weeks, so I called back and they had hired someone else and failed to call me to let me know one way or another, but that’s when I found out about a temp job for the same position. Funny thing is, a couple weeks later, after I already took the temp job I finally received a letter in the mail stating I didn’t get the first job…haha.
Just letting you know, don’t be afraid to follow up on places you’ve applied. Sure, it may be annoying, but maybe they’ll atleast remember who you are and that you cared enough to call back and see what the progress was.
I really hope something works out for you very soon. If the France thing works out…don’t forget our deal! I’m coming with you and living with you until I find a job…or a pretty French girl with a job!
Yup Rafe I will keep you posted on stuff! What partly sucks is that, during the application process for a majority of positions, there is no contact information whatsoever provided with regard to getting in touch to check on a position; in fact, many times an automated email is sent in recognition of your submission which specifically states that you will not be contacted unless hiring personnel are interested.
